Design Tattoo

By Rajan Patel
Behind every tattoo, there lies a story. Whether it's good or bad, it's a personal story that only the bearer of the artwork can distribute. I don't think I have ever come across a person who did NOT have a tale to share, especially when it came to their artwork. Will still be awkward when wanting to display your tattoos, because there are still connotations trying to link tattoos with unscrupulous people.

My stepfather passed away in 1994. This left my mother numb, and searching for anything to alleviate such numbness. Therefore, at the age of forty-four, my mother got her first tattoo. It was a flower-entwined design of thorns and roses, which signified the good times (roses) and the more horrible moments (thorns) of her lifetime. For her, it took the numbness away, and made her realize she could still feel. I, myself, also received my first tattoo with her. I was twenty-one, and at a very self-hating point in my life. I have always been told how beautiful I was, but - like many insecure young women my age - I did not believe it.

So, really do not think to feel beautiful, than to put a picture of beauty on myself? I chose a fairy - a passionate-looking woman who was not only nude, but also stood upon a rose - wings unfurled. Better yet, the tattoo looks like a butterfly from further away. The very next time I got a tattoo, I wanted another fairy. However, I could not find an etching that I liked. Luckily, among the tattoo artists been a graduate of The Art Institute of Chicago (I grew up in a suburb of the Chicagoland area).

The tattooist took an original design of a fairy, and elongated her body, making the design go from a cherub-looking, child-like figure, to a voluptuous, breath-taking raven-haired beauty. She, too, is a nude fairy, but every one of the "bits" are covered very artistically. I once had a six-year-old student of mine show the dog, exclaiming, "Eww - she 's naked!" Without a pause in my reading lesson, I commented, "That's art, honey." (I was wearing a Halloween costume that did not cover my upper calf - where the tattoo resides.) Later, my co-teacher pulled me aside and commented, "I love the fact you remarked that a tattoo is art!"

You do not need a book to tell you what a tattoo means to you. The total tattoo art experience comes from within you. I no longer feel exactly the same I once did. A decade of life experiences has given me the self-confidence I was once deficient. However, for the time I lacked the self-esteem to adore myself, I let my tattoos do the talking for me. I still love both of my tattoos, and sometimes wonder if there are any more tattoos in my future. Rest assured I would have a story behind the next one as well!

Tattoos last forever, so you'll want to be sure you've chosen the perfect one before you get inked. Are you aware there could be up to 500 different styles for the tattoo you are thinking of getting? Flipping through hundreds of tattoo parlor books can get a little tiring. Why not just browse through a web site instead? You can see 1000s of a tattoo styles, ideas and pictures to the information. You may also create your own custom tattoo!

Safety Tips To Look For If You're Getting A Tattoo

By Scott Graham
A tattoo can be a permanent piece of artwork, or a symbol of something that you never want to forget. Many couples have each others names tattooed on themselves, or a certain date that is important.
This is a lifelong commitment that needs the same amount of thought put into it as any important decision. The safety aspect is vital, so ensure you follow these guidelines.
Although quite rare, some people are allergic to the inks that are used to create the tattoo. The first indication of this is a terrible itch and reddening in the area of the tattoo.
Infections and irritations can occur after getting a tattoo, and these can be serious. If the needles haven't been sterilized, diseases are passed from one person to another very easily.
If you think these tips are a waste of time, consider this. Are you really prepared to take the risk of contracting hepatitis, HIV or tetanus by just running off to some dirty tattoo parlor? No, I didn't think so.
Now that you know the risks; it's time to choose a tattoo parlor to create your tattoo. Make sure that they have a proper license and that they always wear gloves.
A good tattoo artist will use new, sterile needles for each customer, straight out of the packet. The other tools should also be sterilized and used needles disposed of immediately after use.
You can greatly reduce your risk of any infections or complications by implementing a post tattoo routine. After 24 hours, uncover the tattoo and clean it with plain soap and water. There are antibiotic creams and lotions you may want to apply to further reduce the risks.
Avoid direct exposure to the sun, moisturize the surrounding area and stick to clothing that is loose. It normally takes at least 14 days for a tattoo to heal. If you notice anything untoward, go straight to your doctor.
At the end of the day, a short time doing a bit of research will make getting your tattoo what it should be; an enjoyable experience.

Tattoos - The Different Designs Available

By Mark Stein
At present, life is made easy with the development of technology in every field. The present day demands for every individual to make a mark for him that makes him different from the rest. An ideal way to make this happen would be selecting the most appropriate kind of tattoo that talks about your personality and makes a style statement.
There is a tendency for a person to be misled due to various designs available to him and ultimately choose a wrong design that does not suit his personality and goes out of fashion in the long run. Thus a right approach towards the selection of a design is necessary and the designs talked about in the later sections can help you in making your choice.
The designs women normally go with are the butterfly tattoos. Before choosing a butterfly tattoo, knowing the meaning would help you be more proud about your design. The butterfly that is born from an ugly cocoon works its way through all the difficult times and ends up as a symbol of beauty and happiness.
The tattoo owing to its small size is a wise choice for the girls who have a fear of their folks rejecting the design. The added advantage with this class of the tattoo is that you can flaunt it when you wish and hide it when on a journey to grandma's. The inking that is normally done in black is a treat to the eyes.
Another class of the tattoos that sounds feminine, but is popular among the men of the present day society is the angel tattoos. Happiness and peaceful life is associated with an angel tattoo. Everybody is well versed with the stories of angels and have an impression that the angels can bring in prosperity to one's life.
The guardian angel version of the angel tattoos is supposed to guard the person from all the upcoming difficulties and take him safely through the difficult times. The other types of angel tattoos are the arch angel tattoos, Cherub angel tattoos and the fallen angel tattoos. The angel tattoos give a feeling that we are being watched over by them.
Most of the youngsters of the present day prefer the tribal version of tattoos. They are attractive due to the intricate designs and are made all the more special due to striking imagery and symmetry.
The tribal tattoos that were developed in the olden times as mere signature tattoos have risen up to the amount of the best forms of body art. The tribal tattoos of the present day derive their origin from the African, Indian and the Polynesian tribal tattoos.
During the olden days, the practice of getting tattooed was restricted to only some particular sections of the society and the upper class refrained from it. Today with all the current classes of the society accepting the tattoo culture, there exists a necessity for increased care to be taken about hygiene while getting tattooed. Since the tattoo is a permanent mark on our bodies, one has to choose a proper design and place of inking.

Tattoo Sites - Find Top Tips Here

By Adam Woodham
Only very few of the many tattoo sites online deliver good on tattoos for those seeking them. Even worse, do you realize how impossible it is for the average person to get to one of them, through all of the nasty artwork galleries? It's an insane journey that ends up with people pulling their hair out, or even worse, picking one of the crappy, generic tattoos they saw and getting it put on their body. Do you want those types of tattoo websites, or would you like something better?

Well then, should you desire better you are in the right place. I have a sneaky, little known trick to get directly to where the real artists submit their designs. And you'd never be able to number them either. Surfing one page after the other of nail biting and dreadful tattoo designs must be driving you crazy by now. I had had enough; that is why I eventually found a way to deal with the situation. Seriously, you have got to be able to think unconventionally if you hope to locate great tattoo websites. Maybe you don't have to go too far around the bend, but you've got to push a little.

You can't go too easy on the message boards, is what I'm saying, but be purposeful about it. Not a lot of individuals trace tattoo websites this way, perhaps because it seems too ignorant and easy. The vast majority of people (about 99.3%, I daresay) just want to explore all the artwork they can get their hands on. That's not what you should be doing. Quality is what you should be out there on the lookout for - quality and not quantity.

If you want quantity, prepare to spend the next 3 hours clicking through 4000 generic, "off the parlor wall" images. Take your time instead, and in no more time you could be picking from perhaps 500 impeccable designs on websites where others have found them, also with the aid of message boards.

There's a huge difference here, and it can mean the difference between putting a plain, generic design on your body, and putting an original piece of art on yourself. People who stick generic stuff on themselves always regret it, while the people who spend time at great tattoo websites end up with something they're absolutely, positively happy with.

Want To Commemorate Your Kid With A Tattoo?

By Lily Rose

More and more parents are choosing to commemorate their offspring with not just a baby book, a simple photograph but with something more permanent...a tattoo.

Here are 10 unique ways to commemorate your kid with skin and ink.

A Foot Tattoo Baby feet are just so incredibly cute. Tiny, soft and adorable, the foot imprint is a popular way to keep as a memory of how tiny your baby once was. Generally these imprints are done on paper or clay but occasionally the parent wants something a bit more permanent like this foot, with name, tattoo.

The Hand Tattoo If feet aren't your thing, you can get your kids handprints on your body. It's like the child got into an inkwell, soaked their paws and gave Daddy a great big push. Then the proud Dad went to their local tattoo parlor to have the moment saved for prosperity.

The Portrait Tattoo of your kid Portrait tattoos are tricky. In the right hands they can be the spitting image of the honoree, in others...not so much. But if that's the risk you're up for taking, then it is all you. Regardless, when the child hits the independent pre-teen years the tattoo of them as a baby on your arm will probably embarrass the bejesus out of them.

Portrait of Someone Else's Kid If you don't have kids, or are not that fond of your own, get a tattoo of someone else's kid. We know of one dad who opted to get a tattoo of Angelina Jolie's son Maddox on their body.

A Portrait of your Kid's Self Portraits Charming, sweet and whimsical, these tattoos of your kid's self portraits can be an artistic, impressionistic memory of your child's early years. The Bonus points come if your kid has actual talent.

The Baby Was Here Tattoo For those who really loved being pregnant and wished that there was a little one in (or in this case- on) your belly forever, some tattoos pays homage to fertility and the ability of the body to create bones and a being. ..with a baby tattooed on the belly.

A 'I really like my kid's name' Tattoo If you are familiar with the 3rd season of Project Runway, then the neck of Jeffrey Sebelia wil be very familiar to you. His tattoo covered neck shows an homage to his infant. His son's name is boldly etched onto his neck. The poor kid, every time he talks to his dad he'll have to see his name looking back at him.

The 'I have not 1 but 6 to honor' Tattoo If you have more than one or two kids, getting something like a portrait of each would be pretty confining space wise. Getting something a bit more subtle in style and space would be a much better decision. Angelina Jolie has tattooed the map coordinates of where each of her children were born which spans three continents.

Portrait of Your Kid's Favorite Toy Maybe it's a stuffed animal or a favorite dolly or a My Little Pony. You can pay tribute to your child's favorite toy instead of just the child themselves...with a tattoo. This tattoo makes a fabulous conversation piece at the playground.

The Keep Your Kid Busy Tattoo tTttoos can be a cool way to merely commemorate your child, but how about one that will actually keep them busy? Now that's some double duty skin art for sure. Someone got a connect the dots tattoo that when all the dots are combined turns into a cute giraffe. This is a perfect way for little Jimmy or Janie to pass the time while in line at the five and dime.

Tattoo Designs Lower Back - Know What's Best For You

By Ian Vanderpute

Many women chose the lower back for their tattoo. The area allows for a fairly large tattoo, yet the tattoo can be easily hidden by clothing when displaying it would be a problem, like a a formal event or at the office. There are lots of beautiful designs. The problem is you'll only have the ability to admire your tattoo in the mirror since it not easy to focus on your own lower back.

Low cut jeans and bikinis make these tattoos especially popular with the ladies. While easily concealed on formal occasions or on the job, lower back tattoos are also easily displayed in less formal settings. Pictograms and floral designs are popular for these tattoos. Few men chose lower back tattoos, choosing to place their tattoos on the upper back. Women wear clothing that may show an upper back tattoo when they would prefer it not be visible which makes the lower back their ideal location.

How big the area allows significant amounts of flexibility in the cross tattoo design.

Designs for lower back tattoos tend toward the feminine with flowers, vines and Celtic knotwork being among the most popular. Most women are not drawn to tribal art because the heavy dark lines appeal more to men. Whether your preference is for a smaller center tattoo or for a tattoo that stretches from hip to hip, it's easy to find a design.

For animal imageries, dolphins are quite the favorite because they seem really cute in the lower back. Butterflies tattoos are also eye-catching animal tattoo designs. The most common tribal designs in the lower back are Celtic styles, stars and sun.

Some women prefer dragons with sinuous lines. Fairies and roses and occasionally hearts can all be used in lower back tattoos. The tattoos could be a picture which relates a story, or simply an attractive design.

In addition to being easily displayed or covered, the lower back is often chosen as the location for a tattoo by women because of its sex appeal. Men often find a woman's hips or buttocks to be sexually attractive, and a lower back tattoo calls attention to those areas. Men who have tattoos on the lower back generally extend them well above the waist, while women keep them below the waist.

If you're considering a lower back tattoo, avoid trendy designs or names. The tattoo will be there even when your current boyfriend is not. Classic designs never go out of style and won't lead to embarrassing questions. Tattoos are permanent and you will be with you for the rest of your life.

Getting a tattoo doesn't end on having the design inked on you body, you should observe the after-tattoo care. Because the lower back tattoo is placed on you back, you should ensure that you will have someone to help you keep the tattoo clean and dressed for the initial few days after the tattooing procedure.

Deciding on the right design can be tough. Visit Internet tattoo websites and local tattoo artists and take you time in making your decision. After all you need a lifetime to live with your tattoo, make sure your tattoo is something you can love now and forever.

Small Feminine Tattoos

By Rian Haswanda

And because tattoos have soared in popularity within the last decade, there's no shortage of tattoo "studios" willing to practice their artistry on you.

Tattoos originated as ancient, symbolic art forms, and many retain their symbolic meanings today. Although you may still find some people who get tattoos strictly based on the design, some of the people tend to regret their choice of tattoo later on in life. Tattoos can be very beautiful, and capture plenty of positive attention. Most people who decide to get tattoos today choose them for their symbolic meaning, along with the beauty. Both women and men have tattoos, some small tattoos, and some large tattoos encompassing their entire body and today tattoos are more common than ever, particularly small tattoos.

Tattoo artists will willing to place dull lifeless designs in a seemingly haphazard way, but they tend to treat the body as a three-dimensional canvas onto which each tattoo is placed, to reside in balance with the body and any existing tattoos. Permanent tattoo designs differ depending on culture, religious affiliations, gender, or personal liking and selections. For certain tattoo designs, some people prefer to check out real life photos or browse through artwork for ideas pertaining to their tattoo designs.

Many individuals select tattoo designs from those presented at a tattoo parlor, while others approach some research and help ensure that their design is unlike any other. While there are tattoo designs that are gender specific, you should remember that getting a tattoo is definitely personal thing and the image that is ultimately chosen should be one that reflects something that is important to the wearer.

Although there are many exceptions, most males and females will naturally be drawn to different tattoo designs. Of all tattoo designs, women commonly select small feminine tattoos with hearts, butterflies, flowers, lettering, etc. Men, alternatively, often prefer that their tattoo designs be placed on the upper arm, like a Robbie Williams tattoo on the chest or back.

A number of the more popular themes center on the following:

*Butterflies *Dragons *Flowers *Crosses *Fairy *Irish *Celtic *Animals *Dolphins *Tribal

Some popular sub themes are:

*cat tattoo designs *zodiac tattoo designs *dolphin tattoo designs *heart tattoo designs *small feminine tattoos

With the exception of people with already chosen their preferred image, it could be very difficult from which to choose the many tattoo designs at that moment. Usually, people don't make an effort to really think about why they choose a particular tattoo and look at other tattoo designs available. It takes lots of decision-making and also researching for meanings of different tattoo designs and ideas. There are millions of designs out there for tattoos - including different color combinations that have helped to make tattoos the phenomenon they are today. In case you are ready to produce a significant investment within your body art then custom design tattoos are for you.

One Of The Most Popular Designs For A Tattoo Is The Rose

By John Gil

The rose is a perennial flower shrub or vine of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae, that contains over 100 species and comes in a variety of colors.

Rose water, made from the rose oil, is widely used in Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. The French are known for their rose syrup, most commonly made from the extract of rose petals. In the United States, this French rose syrup is used to make rose scones and marshmallows.

The species form a group of erect shrubs, and climbing or trailing plants, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Most are native to Asia, with smaller numbers of species native to North America, Europe and northwest Africa.

The plant's fleshy edible fruit, which ripens in the late summer through autumn,is called a rose hip.

Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach 22 feet in height. Species from different parts of the world easily hybridize, which has produced the many types of garden roses.

They are also pressed and filtered to make rose hip syrup. Rose hips are also used to produce Rose hip seed oil, which is used in skin products and some makeup products.

The aggregate fruit of the rose is a berry-like structure called a rose hip. Rose species that produce open-faced flowers are attractive to pollinating bees and other insects, thus more apt to produce hips.

The hips of most species are red, but a few have dark purple to black hips. Rose hips of some species are very rich in vitamin C, among the richest sources of any plant.

The leaves of most species are 2-6 inches long. The vast majority of roses are deciduous but a few (particularly in South east Asia) are evergreen or nearly so.

The flowers of most species of roses have five petals. Each petal is divided into two distinct lobes and is usually white or pink, though in a few species yellow or red.

Rose thorns are actually prickles - outgrowths of the epidermis. While the sharp objects along a rose stem are commonly called "thorns", they are actually prickles - outgrowths of the epidermis.

While a popular flower for its many uses it is the beauty of the rose and its symbolism as a flower of love that make it such a popular tattoo design. Now the rose is also a popular design for temporary tattoos.

Ancient Tattoo Designs Through History

Māori chief, late 18th centuryImage via Wikipedia
Going as far back as any research go relating to the question, it is claimed that the "Ice Man" who lived some 3300 B.C., had some manner of tattoos.  Upon discovering the remains, research workers could do little besides guess that this archaic type of tattoo was for the purpose of warding off evil spirits, or that it might be some type of rite-of-passage decoration.

Merged on his spinal column and at the back of one knee and on one ankle, the Ice Man had more or less fifty-seven tattoos. It is impossible to do further than speculate as to the specific reason for them, it most certainly exhibits that tattoos aren't unique to present eras nor to the individuals in the present-day world.  Because the Ice Man was the oldest mummified human remains found in Europe, modern day tattoo fans have history on their side - there's nothing whatever new about tattoos.

In other time-periods, tattoos also served dedicated purposes.  Going the furthest back in American history, assorted Native American tribes used tattoos;  it had been primarily for the goal of showing their rank to one's individual tribe.  For the Polynesians, tattooing was a means of linking genealogy and family history; every individual had his own distinct tattoos to indicate the account of his family.  Among the earliest explorers around the American continent are said to have gotten this background from the Polynesians' forms of tattoos.

Two of the oldest Egyptian mummies were discovered  to have had tattoos.  These tattoos, that are only found on female mummies, consist of designs of lines, dots and dashes.  As the women themselves were connected to ritualistic practices, it is assumed the tattoos that they had  were in some way representative of that fact.  It is just speculation on the parts of the researchers, due  to their knowledge of the lifestyles of that episode in time.

Although Oriental symbols are indisputably fashionable for tattoos in America, it's not commonly known that both the Japanese and Chinese cultures have held a powerful opposition with the occupation of tattooing all through history.  With both public and religious viewpoints agreeing that tattooing is something that  should not be done, it continues to be broadly held to be a means of contaminating one's body.  For the ancient Chinese, tattooing was used as a punishment for criminal practice, placing this kind of evident symbols on an individual to forever label him as a criminal.

The Appeal of Having Lower Back Tattoos

lower back tattooImage by puggie via Flickr
It's really not hard to see why lower back tattoos have become so very well-liked over the years. On a woman’s body there are a few places that can be thought of as sensual. Though this varies from culture to culture, most consider the  sensitive areas to be the nape of the neck and the infamous lower back.

Although women have numerous areas for tattoos, the lower back is one of the most erotic and sensual areas they can get tattooed.  Lower back tattoos are easy to cover up as well, which is great for those who aren’t allowed to wear tattoos at their workplace.  Unlike other areas of the body, the lower back is utterly covered up by a shirt.  With the lower back  you only show the tattoo off when you want to.

The ease to show or hide lower back tattoos has helped to intensify it's popularity, also as the desire, or sensuality. As long as a woman tells someone, especially a man, that she has a lower back tattoo  the mind commonly wanders.  Lower back tattoos bring forth a sensual and tantalizing appeal.

As a rule, these tattoos are done around the waist line. Whilst part of it may be hidden by a women’s swimming suit there may very well be a component of it showing too.  For lovers, a lower back tattoo can be very sensual and sexual, a secret that is shared just between the two.

The assorted designs and shape of the tattoo will very often enhance both the look and the appeal of the complete lower back area.  The set up of the tattoo is conventionally a small and shallow curvature that enables it to fit perfectly to the curves of the female back and natural curves of her hips.  The lower back tattoo helps to accentuate a breathtaking component of the female anatomy and enhance an area that is well known for its sensuality.

Well-liked designs for lower back tattoos embody flowers, vines, and stars.  Winged creature designs work really well as the wings of the monster can stretch his wings across the whole lower back region.  Angels, dragonflies, and birds also appear to enhance the lower back area really well.  You can add natural designs to the creatures too, including plants and flowers.  The lower back is a great area for tattoos giving you an unlimited possibility to use your imagination.
